Gratitude is Not a Luxury; It is a Necessity.
What are you here to do? To grin and bare it and get through it? Or to enjoy and celebrate?
Gratitude is not a luxury; it is a necessity. Do we need to deserve to be happy? Life itself is a gift, as is everything we have the opportunity to do. We may not love our jobs, our bosses, our home; we may have trouble with our partner or may not be on the best terms with our friends. We may have just fallen short of a great opportunity or may be at the cornerstone of something new and great (which we do not know yet). Look at the other side of these scenarios: we have a job, we have a home. We have a partner and friends. We have the opportunity to for growth. This is what we should celebrate. Think of all the “we haves” and “I haves.” You do not have to deserve to be happy. You have to be happy; you have it within you.
What are you here to do? To grin and bare it and get through it? Or to enjoy it and celebrate? How miserable would you be if your goal was to just get through everything. It is like coasting on empty, trying to get to the finish line, but with nothing being there once you reach it.
Stop and revel in each moment. Be grateful for it all. We deserve to be grateful for everything, yet it is not a luxury. It is a necessity so that we do not live passively, but live fully. It is not easy, but when you think about your life, it is much easier to emanate positivity than to nit pick and dwell. The negative spirals into everything else and drags it down. Focus on the positive, embrace it. Because gratitude is not a luxury, it is necessity that you need in your life.
