Where Art Meets Fashion: Greenwich, Connecticut.
Saks Fifth Avenue opens the second of its four store revamp and shopping Mecca in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Saks Shops in Greenwich: Saks Greenwich The Collective
On Wednesday, February 1st, Saks Fifth Avenue, in partnership with the Greenwich International Film Festival, hosted a private cocktail party to celebrate the opening of its new contemporary store, The Collective.
The area’s most well-heeled crowd buzzed up and down all of Greenwich Avenue. Hosted by SVP Fashion Director Roopal Patel, and VP General Manager, Joe Gambino, the soirée featured looks curated by trendsetters, Harley Viera-Newton, Ashley Avignone, Annie Georgia Greenberg, and Cleo Davis-Urman.
Boasting 14,000 square feet on two magnificent floors, this is quite a space, even for Fairfield County. Upon entering is the season’s most coveted cropped, torn, and flared denim. Knowlita’s exclusive "Greenwich or Nowhere" tees were the craze of the night, selling out within the hour. Quincy Moore, the brand’s Founder and Creative Director, loved the hype he felt from the Greenwich clients. The main floor introduces ready to wear, such as Alix of Bohemia and Mara Hoffman, a selection of contemporary jewelry from Meira T, Lana Jewelry, and EF Collection, and a Tom Ford beauty corner.
Up the stairs — a prime look-out locale to see which local A-listers walk in: Saks Fifth Avenue’s President, Marc Metrick, Chief Merchant, Tracy Margolies, and model, Hilary Rhoda — is where the true Saks culture lies. A VIP styling suite and 53 brands yield a fresh selection, compared to the 23 previously found in the original store. Designers, such as Public School and Opening Ceremony, are exclusive to Saks. Acquaintances will no longer show up to parties wearing the same dress. Fashion innovators no longer have to travel to Fifth Avenue.
Saks began its “small is the new big” expansion in October 2016 with the designer shoe store, 10022-SHOE. The Collective follows suit, with the Vault (fine jewelry) scheduled to open this spring. Next fall's renovation of the original store, which will house designer ready to wear, accessories, and cosmetics will conclude. Metrick spoke about the company's decision to take advantage of the Mecca that is Greenwich, saying, as long as “[we] give people a reason to come,” brick and mortar will continue to thrive.
Saks’ Greenwich goal is to create the ultimate lifestyle brand, where women can spend the day updating their wardrobe, or stopping at each location for a leisurely ladies’ day.
The Collective is open seven days a week, and provides a complimentary purchase delivery service. The Saks Shops Express delivers to zip codes in a 10 mile radius of Greenwich Avenue.
